BYOBuffalo! House Party June 26

Inspired by Buffalo Mountain, a very fine Old Church Gallery House Party is planned for Wednesday, June 26 (4:00 to 7:00 pm). BYOB stands for “Bring Your Own Buffalo” and we invite you to bring personal photos, memories, songs, artwork, and poems related to Buffalo Mountain to share for the evening. Should be a fun evening with music, snacks, Buffalo camaraderie, and more!

You’ll want to take time to see our new exhibit There’s the Buffalo!” with works by twenty local artists. We’ll have refreshments on the lawn with music, stories, and song. At 4 pm, George Slusher and friends play Stanley Lorton’s handmade mandolins and share a few tunes and tales from music makers in the Gallery archives. The harmonious duo of Willard Gayheart and Ricky Cox performs at 5:00. Other musicians will jump in along the way.

This year’s BYOB House Party takes place during the annual Give Local NRV 2024 Day of Giving, sponsored by the Community Foundation of the New River Valley. Thanks to the Community Foundation, Old Church Gallery can now accept online donations in addition to cash or checks.

Every donation made to Old Church Gallery between June 1 & noon on June 27, 2024 will bring our building fund closer to the top. A most generous supporter, who happens to love hiking the Buffalo, elevation 3,971 feet, is matching the first $3,971 pledged to Old Church Gallery during this time. That means your donation will be doubled!  Visit our donor page: Give Local NRV and thank you!
