Musical Chairs House Party, June 25, 4-7 pm
Musical Chairs! Prizes! Successful House Party showcased our Gallery exhibits (featuring wonderful chairs), then everyone took to lawn chairs with music by Vic and Jane Zitta – 4 pm, the Floyd String Band All-Stars – 5 pm (Mac Traynham, George Slusher, Clay Moran, Charlie Thompson, Jason Phillips), followed by the harmonious duo, Willard Gayheart & Ricky Cox – 6 pm. Joining with Give Local Giving Day, we had a Silent Auction, refreshments, and every donation helped us construct a virtual chair, part by part! (see 18th C Virginia chair below)
In honor of our “Memories Sit Here” chair exhibit, we constructed a virtual fundraiser chair. We’ll filled in the parts as donations accumulated to reach our $3500 match – all donations doubled!
Current Give Local NRV donations are almost complete and our 18th C. chair is now fully assembled! (legs, finials, arms, ladders, rungs, and seat = $7,798 with matching funds)
Click HERE to donate anytime. Thank you for each part! Your support always sustains our museum and sparks our efforts. Thank you!
Our event joins with regional non-profits for Community Foundation of the New River Valley’s Give Local Giving Day Hope to see you there! Musical Chairs House Party, Wednesday, June 25, 2025, 4-7 pm.
