Gallery Receives Grant from Vest Fund
The Old Church Gallery’s “Protecting a Legacy of Cultural Artifacts” grant proposal recently received welcome support from Community Foundation Serving Western Virginia. Funding from the foundation’s Larry Woodrow Vest Fund will provide timely assistance to help alleviate environmental concerns for the museum building and ensure the preservation of the Gallery’s archival collections.
The Old Church Gallery explores and interprets valuable links between Floyd County’s past and present creative makers. As a cultural arts museum, the Gallery fosters awareness of the crafts, traditions, and creative arts from early settlement to the current arts scene.
With more than 400 endowed funds, Community Foundation Serving Western Virginia continues to work diligently to connect philanthropic resources with important community needs. Individuals interested in establishing their own personal or family legacy through an unrestricted endowment or any of the many other types of endowment funds offered by the community foundation should visit www.cfwesternva.org.
The Old Church Gallery is greatly appreciative of the continuing support from the Larry Woodrow Vest Fund and the Community Foundation Serving Western Virginia. Tax-deductible contributions to support our preservation efforts are welcome and can be made on-site or by mail to Old Church Gallery, Ltd., P.O. Box 41, Floyd, VA 24091.
