Welcome to our new website!

We have news and are dancing with joy! The Old Church Gallery is pleased to introduce our brand-new website, a comprehensive information resource for our collections, exhibits, and activities. After three years of dedicated work, countless hours of documentation, and investigations into various databases, the new website has launched, and we’re very excited to open our digital door to the entire community.

Now one can view the handcrafts of county makers, the stories in our place-based interviews, some old-time tunes, and even a few short films, all presented in detail, something that our cozy Gallery space cannot easily do. In addition, the website includes information from past exhibits and an illustrated timeline of our beginnings in 1978 to the present. Working from home, volunteers have designed the new website, reviewed interviews from our oral history archive, and created a thorough inventory of all the special-to-Floyd-County objects that the Old Church Gallery has collected and preserved over the past forty-four years. Our data entry and archiving efforts will continue, as we add yet more items to our website. Do let us know if you’d like to help!

We hope you’ll enjoy exploring our online collections. There’s much to see!  Sincere thanks for the support along the way.  We plan to reopen in late June (assuming virus metrics stay low) at the Old Church Gallery,110 Wilson Street, Floyd, Virginia.  Meanwhile, follow us on Facebook, subscribe to our news blog, or write us at oldchurchgallery@swva.net.

We Remember, We Collect, We Protect, and (with this new website) We Share!
