Description
This quilt is a sophisticated contrast between light and dark. It has twenty blocks of pieced stars centered with four squares. These are surrounded by diamonds whose alternating dark and light prints create a three-dimensional effect. The blocks are set off by orange print sashing and uncommon pieced cornerstones. The cornerstones also alternate light and dark prints which create movement. The original back and binding appear to have been replaced and the quilt is hand-quilted with an average of seven stitches per inch in a fan pattern.
