Description

This quilt is a study in contrasts. A delicate red and pink print cotton is used for the sashing and stars of seven of the twelve blocks while two different red materials form the stars in five other blocks. The block backgrounds are pieced from dark argyle plaid and black materials. The cornerstone pieces connecting the sashing are a dark gray print. The backing is unbleached muslin. It is hand-quilted in a fan pattern with an average of four stitches per inch of quilting. While the quilt is in good condition overall, one corner block is quite faded
