Description
This navy and gray overshot coverlet is the only one in our collection woven using the Double Chariot Wheels pattern. It is in poor condition with significant damage (fading, holes, wear) to roughly half of the coverlet’s area.

While the maker is unknown, this coverlet is one of five from the C.W. and Margaret Harman family.
Margaret and C.W. Harman were both descended from Jacob Harman (1769-1848) & Christina Mock Harman (1769-1839). Margaret Edna Harman Harman was d/o John T. s/o Gordon B. s/o Christopher C. s/o Benjamin s/o Jacob Harman. Charles Wesley “C.W.” Harman was s/o Olin W. s/o Arthur T. s/o Dennis s/o Jacob, Jr., s/o Jacob Harman.
