Description

These three doilies are crocheted from cotton thread. The red and tan ones start with the same pattern but vary in the number of rows crocheted for the center and edge sections. The white doily has more open stitching in the center.

Bio Sketch

Rheba Sowers Mabery Vaughn (1925-2015) was the daughter of Jabe and Stella Sowers. She and her first husband French Mabery had three children. She later married Howard Vaughn.

Notes

Doilies serve as decorative and protective pieces.  Placing them under flower pots or ceramic dishes protects wooden surfaces from scratches.
