Description

This much used quilt’s forty-nine hexagonal blocks are assembled from a variety of scrap materials using both machine and hand-stitching. The batting layer is a repurposed flannel sheet or thin blanket. The backing is feed sack material (all but one a matching print) and the layers are sparsely hand-quilted in channels with an average of four stitches per inch. The maker’s strong sense of design shows in the contrasting bold and calm colors unified with the bright core hexagons.
