Description

Bright pastel cotton fabric is used to create the flora on this polyester tablecloth. Three flowering vines run the length of the cloth while bands of flowers finish off the ends. Individual flowers with stems and leaves are appliqued along the edge of each long side.

Alice Sheffey Peterman Tise (1888-1969) was used to entertaining as the wife of a minister and active community leader. She and her husband, the Rev. J. Marshall Tise, lived on Oxford Street in Floyd and reared their daughters Virginia, Marguerite, and Jessie there.
